Research Interests
My research focuses on the effects of gender stereotypes in the workplace, using an intersectionality framework, and on the development of bias-reducing interventions.

Gender and emotion: I am particularly interested in how gendered beliefs about women’s emotions influence people’s expectations for women in leadership, STEM fields, and the workplace. I interrogate how people’s evaluations of others’ emotion are influenced by power structures.

Social psychological interventions: I also aim to use social psychology to develop micro-interventions and long-term interventions to combat bias. I am currently involved with the WAGES intervention to reduce the effects of cumulative gender bias in the workplace.

Best practices for research: Other work I am undertaking examines how we can conduct responsible and rigorous research informed by social psychological and feminist theory. I am further interested in how organizations and the public engage with research.
